Story summary: The Time of Greed Part 1 - Lycaon

Greed has become rife on earth; compassion has disappeared. Zeus hears rumours that humanity has sunk this low and disguises himself as a traveller to investigate. Visiting an Arcadian king, he is entertained and given a stew to eat into which the body of the king’s son has been thrown. This confirms his fears that the people have become animals and indeed they do, quite literally, by the end of this story.
